Charles V Wall The Bonita Trust, in collaboration with the Gibraltar Government, has restored the Charles V Wall. Charles V Wall was built in 1552 by Charles I of Spain, known as the Emperor Charles V, after requests from the inhabitants of the town to strengthen the defences of the town. The wall is a feature area as it extends in four stages to the top ridge of the rock.
