National AIDS Trust (NAT) – New Prevention Technologies

The Bonita Trust has provided charitable funds to enable the NAT, working in partnership with the International Partnership for Microbicides in the United States and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, to develop policies and campaign for HIV AIDS prevention, particularly amongst women and girls who are disproportionately affected due to higher biological and cultural inequities. The National Aids Trust is the UK's leading policy and campaigning charity on HIV AIDS prevention.

Their work is focused on four strategic goals

  1. Effective HIV AIDS prevention

  2. Early diagnosis through ethical, accessible and appropriate testing

  3. Access to treatment, care and support for people living with HIV *Eradication of HIV related discrimination.

As a direct result of the NAT's successful campaigning, the UK Department for International Development has just announced a five year funding programme to enable the NAT to promote the development of New Prevention Technologies.
