ALEH Bonita Donates $500,000 Towards New Rehabilitative Wing For Disabled Children In Israel.

(16 July 2010) The Bonita Trust, in partnership with Aleh, has enabled the creation of the new Aleh Jerusalem's High-Dependency Wing, a pioneering project that will provide a warm, loving, rehabilitative environment for disabled children with complex medical conditions while receiving the hospital care they require.

The new wing will offer Israel’s most disabled children an unsurpassed quality of life, with opportunities for education, rehabilitation and social activities within a medically safe environment.

Ruth Parasol DeLeon, founding member of the Bonita Trust's International Advisory Board, explained the Trust’s participation with the following words: “Philanthropy is more than the giving of money; it is about the creation of partnerships….and our partnership with Aleh has helped build this wonderful new facility that will enable disabled children to receive specialist care in the uniquely warm and loving environment that Aleh is so good at providing."

The recent Grand Opening Ceremony began with a tour of the newly built High-Dependency Ward, part of a 3-floor expansion to Aleh Jerusalem’s current facility. A plaque commemorating Bonita’s donation towards disabled children in Israel was unveiled, and representatives of the Trust mingled with the many extended members of the Aleh family including Israeli government officials and ministers (who made the project a national concern) as well as representatives from Foundations and Trusts from all over the world, including Gibraltar, Switzerland, Israel, Panama, the U.S., London and Russia; The highlight of the evening was the arrival of President of Israel Shimon Peres, honoured guest speaker. Mr. Peres spoke of the smiles and joy that Aleh brings to the faces of its children. He added that he is proud to be associated with Aleh and its mission of building a better future for these children and all of Israeli society.
