GREEN VILLAGE MISHPACHTON PROJECT BENEFITS FROM BONITA’S SUPPORT

(Gibraltar, 13 May 2010) The Bonita Trust donated $50,000 to the Mishpachton Shaked Project, based in HaKfar Hayarok (“Green Village”) in central Israel. The Project provides a home-from-home family-type environment for disadvantaged children whose families are unable to look after them.

Ruth Parasol DeLeon, of Bonita’s International Advisory Board, noted, “Our donation will help provide educational development and therapy for these young children in distress. The Mishpachton project within the village provides a unique care framework and, with a house mother and father, creates a warm and loving place which enables the children to thrive.”

HaKfar HaYarok is a youth village and, as its Hebrew name implies, a green haven amongst the bustling Central Sharon region of Israel. It combines modern high-tech studies with practical work experience in various fields, in such a way as to develop the students' self-confidence and enable them to experience achievements. More than 1000 students between the ages of 5 to 18, both Israelis and new immigrants, live and study in warm and supportive surroundings. Hakfar Hayarok is an educational institution whose aim is to empower the students to materialise their inner potential. It teaches the student to take an active part in all the village activities. The essence of the Hakfar Hayarok is based on co-operation, responsibility and teamwork. These values aim to help the student become an autonomous, responsible and independent citizen who will be prepared to contribute back to the Community.
