Please allow me, first of all, to thank Bonita Trust for the generous contribution made by them to Vishwas. It is mainly thanks to Bonita’s contribution and support that we have been able to shift to a spacious building with all the accessible features and facilities that enable us to achieve our objective of ensuring the holistic development of disadvantaged children from lower socio-economic strata and children with special needs by providing them with basic education. All of us at Vishwas appreciate Bonita’s contribution.

Bonita’s contribution to the Vishwas educational project has been primarily responsible for them being able to renovate and modernise a premises Government leased premises for use for next 15 years. A substantial part of Bonita's contribution was used to re-equip, refurbish and add disability accessible features in the school premises and develop resources for the community. In addition, Bonita purchased and paid for the conversion of a Vishwas mobile bus unit to enable the transport of children to and from school and to take part in field trips.

Vishwas aim is the holistic development of disadvantaged children from lower socio-economic strata and children with special needs by providing them with basic education.

Crucial features like clean and accessible toilets, water, electricity, power back up, furniture etc had to be incorporated. There have been many new needs cropping up during this settling in period which has been relatively a smooth sailing only because of the timely support that we received from Bonita Trust. With each passing day there are new challenges to be faced and new work to be undertaken and completed. Our admissions have picked up and at this point we have a waiting list. We will increase the number of children as our staff strength picks up as you would well understand an institution of this kind needs many more teachers, specialists and therapists per class of students and has to follow staff student ratio very different from conventional schools.

We are already gearing up for the capacity building of the nearby community and a resource centre, we are hopeful that this inclusive infrastructure would be used as an asset in realizing our mission of facilitating and supporting children and young adults to develop their potential according to their capacities and choices in an inclusive environment. Please find attached a few images to give you a feel of the transition and new developments.

Thank you again for all your contributions to our cause

Warm Regards

Neelam Jolly
